Sharing our Mountain Heritage! One of the best, old fashioned summer festivals in the South drawing thousands to historic downtown West Jefferson each July! Christmas in July is a free-admission event featuring the very best in traditional mountain music and handmade arts & crafts throughout the region while celebrating the farm-grown Christmas Tree industry Ashe County is known for. Join us in 2016 for our 30th year! Friday night, July 1 from 6-10pm brings opening ceremonies, a civil war re-enactment, great live music and a variety of food vendors. Saturday, July 2 the festival is in full swing from 9am-7pm with numerous food vendors featuring a variety of the infamous delicious festival foods & more. Children’s activities, roving performers, fun competitions, civil war reenactments and the Farmers’ Market are also part of the festival. The Main Stage features local and regional performers of traditional mountain music, country & bluegrass. The Community Stage features talent from local community groups & individuals that include dancing, clogging, singing & more! Nowhere else will you find such an excellent array of local & regional music, food vendors, fun and festivities for the entire family than at Christmas in July in downtown West Jefferson!
